Bill Steele
Bill has managed the Seismology Lab of the Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network (PNSN) at the University of Washington, Department of Earth and Space Sciences, since 1993. He currently serves as Director of Information Services for the network, and as Public Information Officer (PIO) for both the PNSN and for many USGS earthquake and volcanic hazards related research activities in the Pacific Northwest. While directing the expansion of the PNSN outreach program, he has supported interdisciplinary and interagency cooperation between university, government, and private sector research communities to identify and address hazards issues. Bill represents the PNSN with membership in numerous government, community and professional organizations and is interested in supporting programs that build natural hazard resilience in communities and businesses.
