George Crawford
George is responsible for earthquake, tsunami, and volcano safety efforts as Earthquake Program Manager for the Washington State Emergency Management Division. He chairs the Tsunami Committee of the Western States Seismic Policy Council; as well as the Washington State/Local Tsunami Work Group and helps develop policy recommendations for the Washington State Emergency Management Council. As a Seismic Safety Committee staff member, George represents Washington in the National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program and represents the National Emergency Management Association on the National Steering Committee for the Advanced National Seismic System. He has worked extensively with Coastal Native American Tribes to connect scientific evidence and Tribal Oral History and co-developed the All-Hazard Alert Broadcasting (AHAB) radio, now being deployed nationally and internationally.
