Tony Elliott
Tony is Head of Secretariat for the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (ICG/IOTWS). He has 29 years experience in research and commercial oceanography. He graduated from the University of Ulster in 1977 with a degree in Environmental Science and obtained a Master of Science in Marine Earth Science from University College London in 1978. In his career he has gained broad experience in the marine sciences, including marine geophysics, physical oceanography, numerical modeling, environmental studies, coastal zone management, and real time metocean monitoring systems. Currently he works for UNESCO IOC and is based in Perth, Western Australia.
