Andrew Moore, Ph.D.
Andrew is an expert in sedimentation by coastal disasters, especially tsunamis. He has worked on the sedimentary deposits of modern tsunamis and storms, including the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, and on the deposits of ancient tsunamis in Hokkaido, Okinawa, and Puget Sound. Andy received a Bachelor of Arts in geology from Carleton College, and a PhD in geology from the University of Washington. He served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Disaster Control Research Center at Tohoku University, Japan, for two years before being hired as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology at Kent State University in 2002. He joined the Department of Geology at Earlham College in 2007.
