Night operations to deploy the bottom pressure recorder (BPR) unit (hanging from the winch), flotation gear in yellow casings and recovery aid buoy (with the red flag). Before deployment, a local bathymetric survey was conducted, and the position of the surface buoy anchor was identified; a target position for the BPR was then established. The BPR mooring was then successfully deployed within 100 meters of the target position, and reports from the bottom unit were received on board the WECOMA. At this point, deteriorating weather conditions required that the planned interrogation of the surface buoy (which had performed well in tests on the WECOMA) had to be abandoned.
